Data Retention & Deletion
Default Retention Period
By default, student submission data and associated feedback records are retained for 365 days from the date of creation. This allows teachers and administrators to review historical student work across a full academic year.
Customizable Retention
District administrators can customize the data retention period to align with their district's data governance policies. Shorter or longer retention windows can be configured based on organizational requirements.
Data Deletion
- District administrators can request data deletion at any time by contacting VisioLang support.
- Deletion requests are processed promptly and cover all student submission data, feedback records, and associated analytics for the specified scope (class, teacher, or district-wide).
- Once deleted, data cannot be recovered.
Automated Purge Tooling
VisioLang provides automated purge tooling to support data lifecycle management. Records that exceed the configured retention period are automatically flagged for cleanup.
What Gets Purged
- Student text submissions
- AI-generated feedback responses
- Per-submission analytics and scoring data
- Session and usage logs tied to individual submissions
What Is Preserved
- Teacher and administrator account records (active accounts)
- Class configuration and seat assignments
- Billing and subscription records
- Aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics
